Hat Tricks Sign Female Goaltender Taylor Schwandt to PTO
DANBURY — The Danbury Hat Tricks signed female goaltender Taylor Schwandt to a PTO.
The 26-year-old saw her first professional action last season in the MIHL (Michigan Independence Hockey League) with the Blue Water Stars. The West Chester, PA native appeared in two games making 93 saves (.877 SV%).
Schwandt played two years at the Women’s NCAA D-lll level, 2017-18 with Chatham University (3 GP, 5.24 GAA, .825 SV%) and 2018-19 at Neumann University before the COVID year in 2019-20.
In 2021-22, the 5-foot-1-inch, 126 lb netminder was a member of Millersville University's squad in the CHF (Collegiate Hockey Federation) suiting up in five games.
We’re excited to have Taylor at camp," Head Coach and General Manager Billy McCreary said. "She is a fierce competitor, who has a strong mindset, and is a top notch person on and off the ice. She is an above average skater and will challenge our shooters with her ability and compete level."
“I’m very grateful and humbled for the opportunity to battle and compete at training camp in Danbury this year," Schwandt said. "The Hat Tricks" organization has a rich tradition of excellence and grit, and I want nothing more than to let my skill and tenacity prove that I’m worthy of representing the Orange and Black.”
Welcome to the Hat City, Taylor!
